How are eyeglass frames made?

Update Time:2026/10/30

Eyeglass frames are made through three material paths: acetate frames are cut and polished from sheet stock, injection frames are molded from heated plastic, and metal frames are shaped and soldered. Every path ends with hinge assembly, surface finishing, and quality checks. READSUN runs all three lines in-house across a 20,000 m² factory with 6 production lines and monthly capacity of 500,000 pairs.

Three Ways Frames Are Made

  • Acetate: sheet acetate is cut, CNC-milled, hand-polished, then hinged—best for rich color and premium feel.
  • Injection: heated plastic is pressed into molds, cooled, and trimmed—fast and cost-efficient for volume.
  • Metal: wire or sheet metal is bent, welded, and soldered into lightweight, thin profiles.

Inside the Production Floor

READSUN's integrated plant covers roughly 20,000 m² with 6 production lines and a monthly output near 500,000 pairs, supported by more than 10 years of OEM/ODM experience and FDA and CE approvals. See the equipment, capacity, and team detail on our manufacturing capabilities page.
