Overview

This is an acetate optical frame in 52-19-140, developed as a new original design rather than a reissue: a moderate eye with a lifted outer corner, a slim bevel and a temple that tapers toward the tip. The front is cut from sheet and polished in stages, so the colour is solid through the material and the edge holds a clean line after the lens is fitted.

Manufacturing & Quality Control

With a cut frame the risks are colour variation between sheet batches, polish haze and hinge misalignment, so all three are checked. Each front is compared with the master chip under daylight, the bevel is inspected along its length, and the finished pair is folded and gauged before packing.

1. Incoming Material Inspection

Acetate sheet is checked for colour batch, thickness, clarity and internal stress before cutting, and every colourway is compared with the approved master chip under daylight. Metal cores, hinges, rivets and demo lenses are inspected in the same pass so that a frame cannot be built from mismatched lots.

2. Cutting, Tumbling and Assembly

Fronts and temples are cut, barrel-polished and tumbled in graduated media until the edge is round and the surface is clear. The lens groove is cut to a constant section, hinges are riveted at a set depth, and the frame is aligned on the bench so the temples fold flat and the front sits level on the wearer.

3. Polishing and Optical Check

The frame is polished in stages, cleaned and inspected for tool marks, cloudiness and colour variation between front and temples. Lenses are edged and seated without stress, then read for power and centration; the finished frame is gauged for bridge width, temple length and face form before it is approved for packing.

4. Packing and Outgoing Sampling

Each pair is wiped, sleeved and packed with the case or pouch specified for the order. The outgoing AQL sample is checked for hinge function, polish quality, logo position and colour consistency, and the carton is verified for barcode, quantity and shipping marks before it is sealed for loading.
