Teenagers and Kids Plastic Optical Frames | Children's Eyeglass Frames

A rectangular plastic optical frame for teenagers and children, engineered for stable hinges, a gentle bridge and consistent sizing across a wholesale run.
Overview
OP973043 is a rectangular children's frame moulded in plastic for teenagers and children. The brief behind it was simple: a frame that a clinic can fit quickly, that a parent can trust, and that a retailer can reorder in the same colour six months later. Wall thickness is kept even around the rim so the frame holds a glazed lens without flexing, and the hinge block is reinforced where children actually stress it.
The hinge block is thickened on the inside of the front, where a child actually loads the joint, so the frame survives being opened past its stop. Weight sits at roughly 20 to 25 g depending on material, which keeps pressure off the nose bridge during a full school day. The surface is polished to a soft sheen rather than a hard gloss, so minor scuffs from daily handling are less visible and the frame keeps its retail appearance longer.
This is a wholesale item: MOQ: 1200PCS, colour and size breakdown agreed before moulding, and packaging specified at the same time as the frame. The same front accepts a 44 mm or a 46 mm lens without changing the bridge, which lets a buyer cover two age bands from one mould. Built for teenagers and kids, these kids plastic optical frames use the same plastic optical frames platform as our other children's eyeglass frames, so a buyer can order one eyeglass frames specification across several age bands without new tooling.
Key Features
Even-Wall Plastic Front
The front is moulded with a consistent wall section, which matters more than the material name on the spec sheet. Even walls cool at the same rate, so the frame does not pull out of shape after demoulding, and the lens groove stays concentric. That is what keeps a prescription lens seated without stress or visible gap at the rim.
Hinge and Temple Stability
The hinge is a metal-on-plastic assembly seated in a reinforced block, not a thin barrel screwed into soft material. Temples are cycled during inspection to confirm tension, and the temple tip is rounded so it does not press behind the ear. A frame that stays folded in a case without springing open arrives at the counter looking new.
Comfort for Daily Wear
Bridge width and temple length are set for children's proportions, with a slight inward curve at the temple tip to reduce slipping. The nose area is smooth and free of flash lines, which is the usual cause of redness on sensitive skin. Parents notice this within the first week, and it is the main driver of repeat purchase in the kids category.
OEM Colour and Branding
Colours are matched to a Pantone or RAL reference or to a physical chip, with a dip approved before bulk. Logos go on the temple by print or engraving, and the inside of the temple can carry a model, size and CE marking. Packaging, lens pairing and barcode labelling are handled in the same production slot.
Product Showcase
The images below show OP973043 from the front, in three-quarter view and at the hinge, so a buyer can judge wall thickness, colour depth and how the temple sits against the front. The hinge block is thickened on the inside of the front, which is where a child loads the joint.

Sizes are quoted against the approved sample, not a nominal drawing, so a reorder keeps the same bridge and temple length. Dimensions, lens pairing and packaging that are not listed above are confirmed at quotation stage.
OEM & ODM Customization
The customisation process starts with your reference: a sample, a drawing or a photograph with dimensions. We return a specification sheet covering material, colour, logo, lens and packing, then a sample for approval before bulk. Colour is matched to a chip, not to a screen, because plastic shifts tone under different shop lighting. Our OEM and ODM optical frames page sets out the full scope.
- Colour matched to Pantone, RAL or a physical chip, with a moulded or plated dip approved before bulk.
- Logo by pad print, laser engraving or a fixed metal plate, positioned on the temple or the lens corner.
- Lens pairing in clear demo, blue-light filter, polarized, photochromic or tinted versions, cut to the frame groove.
- Size grading across two or three age bands, or width options for adult fits, from one mould family.
- Retail packaging: polybag, microfibre pouch, hard case, printed sleeve, barcode and price labelling.
- Artwork and dieline review before mass production, so the frame and the pack are approved in one round.
Sampling and tooling questions are normally settled in one round when the drawing and the colour reference arrive together; the rapid prototyping page explains how a drawing becomes a wearable sample.
Manufacturing & Quality Control
Four inspection points sit between the resin and the carton, each with a reject rule rather than a sort-later note. The record for each batch is filed against the order, which is what makes a reorder predictable rather than a new negotiation.
1. Incoming Material Inspection
Resin, hinges, screws and demo lenses are checked at goods-in. Resin is verified for colour batch and moisture content, since damp pellets cause silver streaks that only appear after polishing. Hinges are tested for screw torque and plating adhesion, and rejected lots are returned to the supplier rather than reworked on our line.
2. Moulding and Assembly
Machine parameters are locked to the approved sample and checked at each shift start. After trimming, the front is fitted with its hinge and temple, then opened and closed to confirm the fold angle. Dimensional checks use a profile gauge at the bridge, the rim and the temple length, so drift is caught before a full batch is run.
3. Polishing and Appearance Check
Frames are tumbled, hand-polished at the edges and inspected under daylight-balanced lamps for scratches, flow marks and colour variation between fronts and temples. Each frame is placed on a reference block to confirm it sits level, and the lens groove is checked with a pin gauge so glazing is not delayed downstream.
4. Packing and Shipment Audit
The packed order is sampled against the approved specification for count, colour mix, logo position and accessory content. Cartons are marked with the model, quantity and batch, and a retained sample is archived. Any deviation found at this stage is corrected before the container is released.
Applications
- Optical chains that need a dependable core kids frame with predictable reorders.
- Paediatric clinics fitting first pairs of prescription glasses.
- Distributors serving school screening programmes.
- Private label brands building a value-to-mid kids range.
- Online retailers shipping single pairs with local glazing.
- Gift and back-to-school promotional programmes.
The frame is designed to be glazed locally, so buyers can hold bare fronts and pair them with their own lens stock. The same front accepts a 44 mm or a 46 mm lens without changing the bridge, which lets a buyer cover two age bands from one mould.
Related kids and teenager models are grouped in the kids optical frame collection, and most buyers build a small core range there before adding seasonal colour. A second size or colour can be added to the same purchase order while the mould is set up.
FAQ
What is the MOQ and how is it split?
MOQ is 1200PCS, split by colour and size according to the breakdown agreed at quotation. Mixed-colour orders are welcome as long as each colour reaches the minimum run quantity, which is what keeps the moulding cycle economical for both sides.
What is the sample lead time?
Sampling is scheduled once the colour reference, logo artwork and lens choice are confirmed. The lead time is stated on the quotation because it depends on whether a stock colour or a new match is required. Courier time is additional and quoted separately.
Can the frame be branded and packed as a private label item?
Yes. Temple branding by print or engraving, custom pouch or case, printed sleeve, and barcode or price labelling are all available. We review the artwork and dieline before production so the pack and the frame are approved together rather than in two separate rounds.
Anything not covered here, including lens specifications for a particular market, is answered within one working day through the contact page.
